I put QS Ultimate durability (full synth) 5w30 in my 2010 1500 miles ago. Prior to that I was using the MC synth blend 5w20. At the same time I changed the air filter to a new Motorcraft unit. What I found in there appeared to be a Fram. I do not know why, the car has 30K miles (bought used with 18K miles).
Interestingly the MPG went up from 23.5 (my daily commute) to 25.5 MPG. In fact, I saw 27.4 tonight on my drive in to work (37 miles city/HWY). I am still rather surprised.

The only oil I use or will ever use is Amsoil.
