Default turboSHO just got off the dyno

a bit disappointing if I'm honest. But the dyno don't lie as they say.

There was a dyno day setup at a local shop. So i though I would join in. everything was set up for rear wheel drive or AWD vehicles so my car did not get any fans to blow on the intercooler but honestly the tune is a mile off on this car right now, but I know the tune is safe so I will be attending the convention as the car sits. Nothing fancy I guess. I really expected quite a bit more power.

to be honest I didn't care all that much. the car isn't running that well + the amount of water that car sucked in today driving around in that down poor was insane. the car would probably run a high 13 or low 14 the way it sits now. that is a far cry from where it was a couple years ago.

yeah, but it's an ATX, so assuming a 20% loss through the driveline (they dont' call them slushboxes for nothing), that's still 337CHP. Which is, to put it mildly, Not Bad. Even with a 15% loss it's still 318CHP...

Plus, Mustang dynos are notoriously more conservative than many others, so if you tested it on another dyno you could find over 300 at the wheels....

Figure about 12-14% Lower then a typical Dynojet.

I was going to say something about the fact that it was on a mustang dyno. Dynojets are really the only accurate dyno out there... every other kind leaves far too much to operater skill...

my car is running insanely rich as anyone from the convention that has driven behind me can back up. So once I get the updated tweecer files that josh is trying to get for me I will be able to take it somewhere and get a decent tune on it and turn the boost up a little bit more and have a fast car again. getting 18-19mpg on the highway sucks.

Me and Clay were almost crying on the way to the track Wed! That thing runs pig rich under 4K. Once the boost starts to come in though, it really leans out alot man.

Looks about like my NA Dyno graph :cP Get the tune straightened out. I know your car has a lot more in it than that.

Your torque should be better at lower rpm also.

it is on the street. the converter stalls to about 2900 on engine and about 3400~ on boost. add that to the face the car was rolling on the dyno and I realisticaly started the dyno pull just below 4k.

I raced blackonblack89 at the convention and i think he inched me out a bit on his SC car. Does he have a dyno graph kicking around to compare against?

not yet. He better soon though.

Honestly though, your low numbers were undoubtedly from the wet air filter. I have had the same issue.

between the wet filter and having no fans on the intercooler. Yeah I can tell you that this car does make more than 269whp on the street. I am going to take the car to the 1/4 mile soon to see if it will do low 13's on 6psi. I removed the boost controller so now it is just on the wastegate spring.

I need to rework the charge pipe going to the maf because for some reason it keeps blowing the charge pipe off. On 6psi I will never hurt that trans so part of me says screw it just enjoy it for a while. a 13 sec daily drive is still bunches of fun.

no it is not my DD. I am about to loose my license because of tickets so I only take it out on special occasions. Like to take mattsho1993 for a spin. the car is fun to drive but it could use some TLC to make it a hell of a lot of fun again. The only changes I made to it since the convention are changing the plugs and dropping the boost to 6psi.

send him my way.
