i've logged a shit-ton of miles in MTX and ATX V6's as well as a gen III, i can tell you for certain the gen III is the cruiser of the three. and i don't care what anyone says about the lumbering beast...go after a properly running, well maintained gen III from a 70mph roll in your stock or even lightly modded MTX, you're gonna get your feelings hurt.

Sorry, but I gotta disagree here. A decently running MTX will pull away from a Gen 3 everytime from 70mph. My Gen 2 would flat out embarrass my Gen 3 at those speeds.

I wouldn't label a Gen 3 as anything but a cruiser when compared to the Gen 1/2 cars. Even with it lowered, and having 60K more miles then my Gen 2 (90K vs 150K), my Gen 3 feels like a new car in comparison.

Here's the formula I keep in mind when considering Gen 1/2/3 cars . . . . . .

Comfort = Gen 3 > Gen 1/2

Performance = Gen 3 < Gen 1/2

Reliability = The owner

I agree that the 3rd gear in a Gen I/II is hard for the 4 speed slushbox in the Gen 3 to contend with at 60 - 100, as such the Gen 3's don't stand much of a performance chance from a 60 roll. I need to line my Gen III MTX up with a V6 MTX car for that 60 roll. It was a good three lengths ahead to 90 than the strong running ATX Gen III I was collaborating and comparing with (the other driver knew the drill, knew my car, and knew why we were there in the first place).

maybe my 98's a ringer then, cuz it sure feels like it pulls into the triple digits a lot harder than my 95mtx.

And how many/what kind of races happen from a 70mph roll? What can beat what from 70 is pointless.

My gen 1 is by far more comfortable, but the G3 was def a better cruiser as far as the ride, much quieter/smoother riding.

Hell, if you were closer, I would tell you about mine! Anybody know if anyone wants a low mileage gen III with a fresh rebuilt transmission and welded cams? 71K on it!

Oh, look, another falls to the slush box.

From Autoblog:

Quote:
Lamborghini has thrown the motoring world a curve ball with a report that Sant'Agata will be leaving manual transmissions to the dinosaurs, just like Ferrari. According to Car and Driver, the decision was part of the company's commitment to increasing the overall fuel economy of its products – something the Raging Bull really hasn't had to bother with in the past. In addition to scrapping the third pedal, the company says it plans to build ever-lighter exotics, which means you can bet your pants there will be even more carbon fiber in Lambo's future line-up.
