So, wondering if anyone has Dyno'd an automatic transmission SHO (mine is a 2015) using the Sport mode + manual shift via paddles? The Dyno shop indicates that I need to be able to maintain a steady gear through the test... concerned that the protective features of the transmission will force a shift when I don't want it.

Thoughts or experiences? Thanks in advance!

How do they feel about tuning in reverse?

Well that's an interesting idea... no clue.

as I recall, once in sport mode it will not shift automatically until you put it back in "D", so it should stay in the gear you select as long as you don't let the rpm drop too low before you mash on it.

Absolutely awful idea, safety features are built in sport mode to prevent you (driver) from destroying the transmission by letting it hang in the gear too long.

I hear you about destroying the car, but I'm just trying to figure out how to use the built-in features (Sport mode + manual shift) to maintain a steady gear. Not trying to blow it up.

No in sport mode if you hit the Rev limiter it will up shift instantly so tuners may not like that although they should be able to work with it.
Specially if they are just doing a pull from third gear

In the 2013- have manual that will not shift for you.

I know for a fact that does not happen with mine, I seem to have issues getting out of first gear and when my steering wheel is not in the right position, lol If I didn't have a rev limiter I would have bought a new motor by now. This does not seem like a huge deal to me but what do I know.

Isn't there a dyno mode like other ford cars/trucks LMS?

Odd sometimes I wish mine was like that because I know the car will do it for me I start to forget about it kinda ruins the driver experience but I can't really put the car on a race coarse so it's not that much of a big deal

It might just be a 10-12 model year thing. I know mine is a 10 and I could bounce it off the rev limiter in "M" mode (there is no Sports mode, it's manual in 2010) if I wanted.

But I have a feeling the Dyno tester isn't concerned about hitting the rev limiter. He's likely more concerned about having it downshift when trying to give it full throttle at 2k rpms.

The dyno guy will take it up to redline and stop. They did not hold it there with mine.
